KUALA LUMPUR: Suspended policeman Tony Beliang was yesterday sent to Kajang Prison to begin serving his eight-year sentence for causing the death of a Johor Baru Hospital doctor after the Court of Appeal set aside his acquittal.
Court of Appeal judges Justices Abdul Kadir Sulaiman, Mohd Noor Ahmad and Rahmah Hussain allowed the prosecution’s appeal against the High Court’s order on Oct 3 last year to acquit Beliang of his conviction and sentence.
