Smuggling bid foiled

PORT KLANG: The state Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs enforcement unit foiled an attempt to smuggle 519 cartons of imitation Marlboro cigarettes worth almost RM778, 500 by sea to Indonesia.. 

Unit personnel stopped a lor-ry loaded with the cigarettes at the Asa Barter Trade jetty at around 2pm yesterday. 

State Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs department director Zainal Abidin Mohd Noordin said the department would take action against the exporter.
