DRUG addicts are resorting to the ketum plant to satisfy their craving for morphine and heroin and the Health Ministry is conducting a research to find out whether the plant has adverse effects on health, said Home Ministry parliamentary secretary Datuk Seri Abu Zahar Isnin.
He said if it was scientifically proven that the plant could cause negative effects, the ministry would take action to curb its use.
