52 manual workers from India win suit

PENANG: Fifty-two manual workers from India who had been “cheated, degraded and denied food and basic amenities” yesterday won their suit at the High Court against their employer for breach of contract. 

Justice Dr R.K. Nathan ruled in favour of Sampath Kumar Vellingiri and 51 others in their suit against Bukit Mertajam-based nuts and bolts manufacturer Chin Well Fasteners Co Sdn Bhd for violating the terms of their contract of employment.
