KOTA KINABALU: Two couples were killed when the four-wheel-drive vehicles they were travelling in were involved in a collision at the 47th kilometre of the Tambunan-Keningau road about 6.40pm on Saturday.

State traffic police chief Asst Supt Abdul Majid Mahmud said Chee Nyuk Fah, 61 and his wife Ng Yin Fah, 57, were pronounced dead on arrival at the Keningau district hospital.

The other couple, Robert Atam, 45, and Rosalia Intokok, 44, were also pronounced dead at the same hospital.

Asst Supt Majid said Chee and Ng had been heading towards Keningau from Tambunan while Robert and Rosalia were going in the opposite direction.

He said Chee was believed to have lost control of his vehicle, causing it to swerve into the path of Robert’s vehicle.
