DIETARY risks are one major challenge for public health in the world today – it is not just about whether people can afford a good diet, but also because they are eating more ultra-processed foods.

Dr Soumya Swaminathan, former chief scientist at the World Health Organisation, said this in her keynote lecture at the third Singapore International Public Health Conference on Oct 19.
