SHARKS are often caught in trawl nets even though they are not the primary target of the fishing industry. They are just incidental catches, but suffer all the same.

To reduce such incidents, efforts are now being taken to protect sharks by turning the waters of Kuala Pahang off Pekan, Pahang, into a conservation zone.
