Taylor’s gets MQA nod

Taylor’s University has been conferred the prestigious Self-Accreditation Status by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, a recognition endorsed by the Higher Education Ministry.

With this recognition, Taylor’s is among only 20 institutions in the country empowered to accredit its own academic programmes through its Senate Committee.

Congratulating the varsity, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the recognition reflects the government’s trust in Taylor’s ability to uphold the highest standards of academic quality and governance.

“This milestone is a testament to Taylor’s strong internal quality assurance system, and a reflection of its proven track record in producing graduates who are globally competitive, future-ready, and committed to contributing to society.

“I am confident that Taylor’s will continue to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for world-class education,” he said.

Taylor’s University vice-chancellor and president Prof Barry Winn said the achievement marks another important step in their journey to shape education that is not only future-focused, but also deeply rooted in purpose and impact.

Describing it as both an honour and a responsibility, Prof Winn said the status reinforces the varsity’s commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and meaningful impact.

“With this recognition, Taylor’s is empowered to design and accredit programmes that are responsive to the evolving needs of industry and society, while continuing to nurture graduates who will thrive in a complex, globalised world,” he said.
