MORE than 30% of engineers starting out are paid a paltry salary of less than RM2,000 per month.

A report by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) last year cited 10 reasons why some 35% of these young professionals were low-paid and these included limited job options in the engineering industry and low academic achievement among graduates.
