Interest-free loans

UTAR is offering short-term financial aid to cover only one trimester of a student’s bill. Students may also apply for an interest- free bridging loan of more than RM500, but a guarantor is required.

Once the loan is approved, the loan will be disbursed directly into the student’s bank account upon receiving the receipt of the signed agreement from the applicant.

Students who need emergency financial assistance for their living expenses may apply for a one-time interest-free loan of RM500 or below and the loan does not require a guarantor.

Students pursuing Utar foundation or undergraduate degree programmes may also apply for the interest-free loan for each year of study up to a maximum of RM15,000 per year. The continuity of the loan is subject to an annual review to ensure that students pursue their studies accordingly. The closing date for the submission of the application is four weeks after the commencement of every new trimester.

Students can apply at UTAR’s student portal. They may also contact Noraidiezwan Alias at 018-871 2100/noraida@utar.edu.my and Yip Khai Leong at yipkl@utar.edu.my (Kampar Campus); or Tan Wear Sim at 018-3502100/tanws@utar.edu.my and Abdul Hafiz Baharuddin at hafizb@utar.edu.my (Sungai Long Campus).
