NiE: a strategy to support independent learning

IF you were to turn the clock back to January 2018, students of Sekolah Bersepadu Kemayan (SBK) located in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, would have no prior experience of using the newspapers in a classroom let alone understand what a Newspaper-in-Education (NiE) programme meant.

But after subscribing to the The Star and using the NiE pullouts for over a year, students in SBK have become enthusiastic about NiE.

It is written by experienced teachers/specialists and is endorsed by the Education Ministry.
