MULTIMEDIA UNIVERSITY (MMU) turned 20 in October, a significant milestone for the country’s first private university. It was set up in 1996 to serve one purpose – produce skilled personnel in the field of information and communication technology (ICT).

Back then, the government had the vision of transforming the Malaysian economy from one based on manufacturing to one linked to knowledge and services. The key to this transformation was the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). But the project needed more knowledge workers than was being produced, so the solution was to create new talent.
