ONE of the city’s oldest schools, SK St John 1, will hold a carnival on Nov 6 to raise funds for its amenities and activities.
There will be many fun-filled activities for the whole family on the day including bouncing castles, game and food stalls, free health screenings, a demonstration by the Fire and Rescue Department and many more.
“We would like to invite the public, especially Johanians (former students of St John) to come and support our carnival while contributing to charity.
“Johanians can take this opportunity to visit their alma mater,” said SK St John 1 parent-teacher association head Erni Firdauz Zainal.
Erni Firdauz said since SK St John 1 is categorised as mission school, it only receives capital funding from the Government.
The proceeds from the carnival will be used to prepare the school for 21st century learning including using interactive boards and TV screens in classes, as well as to upgrade its library and canteen.
“Parents and teachers work together to raise funds for the school. As parents, we want the best for our children,” he added.
All the activities and stalls will be organised by parents and teachers and transactions on that day will be via coupons which are already on sale.
