Researcher making waves

Special honour: Dr Ahmad Zahid presents the award to Hafizah. Looking on are Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (left), Malaysia Youth Council president Muammar Ghadafi (second from right) and Higher Education Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang (right).

THE world of science was rocked on Sept 14 last year, when scientists were able to observe for the first time waves in the space-time continuum called gravitational waves hitting Earth.

That too, led to Kelantan-born Hafizah Noor Isa to be honoured with a Special Award at the recent 46th National Youth Day 2016 celebration held at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
