NICKNAMES in jest are commonplace among students, but Awang Yusoff’s moniker of “Mahasitua” (old student) has made him more determined to succeed in his university studies.
Awang, who hails from Bachok, Kelantan, is no ordinary undergraduate. At 76 years old, he is Open University Malaysia’s (OUM) oldest student.
