AFTER reading “False Hope” (StarEducation Jan 16) and “Residential school regret” (StarEducation Jan 23), I feel the urge to respond. I was in a Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) for five years as a student and had a couple of non-bumiputra friends who also studied there.
I didn't know how things were for them back then, except that there were occasional complaints about not being able to participate in certain activities (i.e. religion-related). And how I envied them as they could get the day off – resting and sleeping!
