Students shine in show

INSPIRED by Islam, local actress Wardina Safiyyah combined Islamic principles with modern society facets in her final design project at art college Cenfad (Center for Advanced Design). Calling it raudatul sakkinah (a place for refuge), she explained that it is a shelter for young girls who need refuge from abuse or who face ostracism.

Wardina’s work was a part of the college’s graduating exhibition in the annual ICON Show which showcased the creative work of Cenfad students. Held last month, works from seven departments were on display, including Fashion Design, Communication Design, Interior Design, Broadcast Arts and New Media.
