STUDENTS from the Music Department of MSC International College will showcase their talents through Wave, a series of graduation concerts. This year's programme, themed Rhapsody of Colours, will be held at MSC's theatrette on Dec 4. It will feature a repertoire of works by well-known composers such as Bach, Mozart, Debussy, and Christmas season favourites. Aside from vocal ensembles and choirs, there will also be performances on piano, guitar, flute, violin and the Chinese erhu. UNIVERSITI Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) recently organised a seminar on Ada Programming Language for more than 300 students from its Information and Communication Technology Faculty at its Petaling Jaya campus. The focus of the talk, conducted by Adrian Hoe, associate director of R&D and consultant software engineer of Impeccable Transform Sdn Bhd, was to introduce students to the programming language, including its history, standardisation, characteristics and software engineering philosophy. Ada language is used throughout the world in the avionics, communication, space, transportation, military, and more recently in the medical, energy and financial fields.
UNIVERSITI Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is organising the 13th National Chemical Engineering Symposium 2003 from Dec 19-21. Programme highlights include future career challenges for a process engineer, nanotechnology, phytochemicals as a future nutrient, energy policy and technology, present and future outlook of petrochemical industry in Malaysia, and computer application in process engineering.
