WHEN Nur Ain Izzati Mohd Zainudidin, who grew up on an oil palm estate in Felda Jengka, Pahang, did her graduate project on the study of fungus on oil palm, little did she think her project would win her a prize, but it did!

Nur Ain, 23, a graduate from the School of Biology, Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), received the ICI Paints Award for “Best Overall Project in the Faculty”. She won a gold coin worth RM500, a cash prize of RM250 and a certificate of achievement.
