Sex, drugs and porn taboo in China

EDUCATION chiefs in Shanghai are seeking to tempt teenagers away from modern vices with a new code of conduct for the city’s school pupils that bans sex, drugs and online pornography. Smoking is also out and the city’s one million primary and secondary school pupils, aged 12-18, have been told to lay off the booze.

Students should also avoid Internet bars, and when surfing at school or at home it should be done in a “civilised manner”, the commission suggests in a bid to stop pupils surfing pornographic sites or overindulging in online chat. – AFP
