A burnt pot of rice and many years later, Lilian Sak is armed and ready for her son’s venture abroad. A complete domestic disaster when she went to London to study in 1975, she has learnt that to survive and not starve, one must be equipped with some basic cooking skills. 

Coaching her son Brandon, who is set to leave for Australia next year, to be self-sufficient in the kitchen has brought back memories of her own misadventures in the UK.
