Cases involving students


July 3: A 73-year-old man tried to rape a schoolgirl at a flat in Kampung Melayu, Penang. The elderly man had lured the 14-year-old, a neighbour's daughter, into his flat under the pretext that he needed some help. While inside, he tried to force himself on her. The man fled when the girl's screams alerted the neighbours who rushed to her aid. 

 

June 28: Two teenage girls were abducted while with their boyfriends at a popular lovers' haunt in Ampang and gang-raped. The girls, aged 17 and 18, went to the area with their boyfriends to admire the view of the city skyline when a car pulled up beside them at about 8.15pm. The robbers drove the girls to a secluded area in Batu 17, Hulu Langat, where they took turns to rape them. 

 

June 24: A 14-year-old girl was abducted outside a shopping complex, forced to drink liquor and smoke ganja before being gang-raped by six men at a house in Kota Damansara. She was walking along Jalan Bukit Bintang when a motorcyclist approached her and forced her onto his motorcycle. He took her to a house in Kota Damansara where she was raped by him and five other men. 

 

June 20: A father of two raped a Form Three girl twice after breaking fast with her. He took her to a food court at Pertama Complex and a restaurant near the Putra World Trade Centre where she took some drinks and felt dizzy. The girl was then taken to a hotel in Jalan Raja Muda Abd Aziz at 1am. Upon regaining consciousness, the girl found herself naked with the man, also in the nude, sleeping next to her. He then raped her twice. 

 

June 7: A 30-year-old security guard allegedly raped his nine-year-old sister in a house at Jalan Sungai Nyor. The suspect threatened the victim not to tell anyone about the incident. The victim and suspect were living with their aunt and three other siblings following the death of their parents several years ago. 

 

May 27: A 19-year-old girl, out on a date with her boyfriend on Saturday night, was allegedly gang-raped by her friend and four others in Kampung Nelayan Hailam, Malacca.  

 

May 27: A 20-year-old youth was charged at a Sessions Court in Seremban for raping a Form Three girl in a car the previous week.         

 

May 25: A student was charged with raping another student on two occasions. He was alleged to have raped the 19-year-old at the hut in the Chinese cemetery at Jalan Kerayong in Brickfields at about 10pm on May 16. He was also accused of raping her at his house in Kampung Khatijah in Jalan Sultan Abdul Samat about 5.40am the next day. 

 

May 21: A labourer in Kota Baru was jailed for 12 years and ordered to be given six strokes of the rotan for raping his 14-year-old sister-in-law. The accused allegedly raped the girl when his wife was taking care of their youngest child who was warded in hospital. He had raped the girl on many occasions over the past six years.
