Tackling the bully

IT was a heart-wrenching sight when seven-year-old Lenny stepped off the school bus with his knees bruised and bleeding. Lenny's mother, Sandra Lee was horrified, and had to send her son to the doctor to get the wound cleaned and bandaged.

''My husband and I had to take our son to the clinic several times for the wound to be cleaned as we didn't want it to get infected. Lenny told us he was carrying his school bag on his back when he was pushed, so he lost his balance and fell, hitting some stones on the ground.

''He tried to be brave and didn't cry all the way home from school. But it was obviously very painful as he was limping and the wound was gaping and awful,'' she shares.

GANGING UP: Bullies tend to act in a group.

Lee says Lenny has complained previously about being bullied by the older boys in school.

''We don't know what to do because we are worried that if we approached the school and made a complaint, Lenny could be picked on more,'' she says.
