HOW can teachers make the ubiquitous essay assignment “About Myself” something that will get their students all hyped up? By getting them to skim and scan the newspaper for items that reflect their interests and personality, and then cut them out and paste the items on a piece of paper to form a collage about themselves.
The collage could be a creative interpretation of how they see themselves, Star-NiE trainer Lucille Dass told about 40 teachers who were introduced to numerous exciting activities through the use of the newspaper to teach English Language in the classroom.
