SERIAN: A body was found by a woman on her way to visit a relative.
The discovery was made near a small road at Kampung Krait, Mile 11, Serian-Sri Aman around 6.30am yesterday.
According to Serian police chief Supt Chung Aik Peng, the deceased has been identified as Lee Mau Kong, 48, from Kampung Paon Gahat here.
Supt Chung said the deceased’s wife reported that he went out last Wednesday and did not come back.
Meanwhile, a worker suffered serious head injuries after falling from the first floor of a building that was under construction on Friday.
The victim, 31, was having a drinking session with his colleagues and is believed to have gone too near the side of the building and fell.
An ambulance from Sarawak General Hospital rushed to the scene.
The victim’s condition is still unstable at press time.
In Bintulu, two Filipino workers drowned after falling into a water-filled palm oil storage tank at a factory in Kidurong Industrial Zone.
The victims, identified as Jermie Onggolan Otat, 24, and Rudolfo Jr Bation, 30, fell into the tank while doing welding works.
A spokesman from Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department told Bernama that firemen, who were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 9.16pm on Friday, took about 15 minutes to remove the bodies from the tank.
The bodies were sent to Bintulu Hospital mortuary.
