THE installation of grease traps has become an expensive affair for the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) as it had already spent RM87,000 and will have to use an additional RM453,000 in stages for the six hawker centres under the council’s supervision.
MPPP councillor Ong Ah Teong said the council wanted to ensure that grease or harmful wastes do not penetrate into the ground and pollute the environment.
