THE front portion of some of the shops in Taipan Business Centre, Subang Jaya may look nice and clean but the back lanes tell a different story.
Following complaints from the public, StarMetro visited the shop and found that the back lanes were indeed filthy.
Food as well as bulk waste such as unwanted furniture and construction material were found scattered about on the back lanes with rubbish in the bins spilling out.
Also, a portion of a side lane near a popular restaurant was riddled with potholes and filled with dirty water, making it difficult for pedestrians to pass by.
Housewife M. Telagawathy, 53, from USJ8 said she usually came to the banks in the area and found the conditions deplorable.
“Sometimes I have no choice but to park my car far away and use the side and back lanes which are filthy,” she said, adding that restaurants should be more particular about cleanliness.
Technician Azman Khalilah, 37, from USJ1 said he too had noticed that some restaurants, while keeping the front portion clean, while ignoring the back lanes.
“This is not right as the back lanes are where food is prepared. The operators must make an effort to ensure the cleanliness of this area.
“Sometimes I have even seen fluids seeping out from the rubbish bins and flowing on to the roads,” said Azman.
