CHINESE New Year festivities officially began at 1Utama Shopping Centre this week, with an elaborate display of decorations and performances all put up within a mini Chinatown.
The mall has recreated a “Golden Street” at its concourses, with replicas of traditional Chinese shophouses, lighted signboards of Chinese calligraphy, red lanterns and even lamp posts and traffic lights, evoking an authentic Chinatown atmosphere within the mall.
