THE IPOH City Council will repair the ground that collapsed near several houses in Taman Menglembu Berlian.
Sympathising with the residents living in fear for their safety, Datuk Bandar Datuk Roshidi Hashim told The Star that the sinking ground could be caused by the recent erratic weather.
It was reported on Tuesday that residents had noticed the ground had sunk after the collapse of a monsoon drain about a month ago.
They believe the frequent rain had expedited the land erosion in the area.
In a subsequent statement released by the council, it said the council’s drainage division had conducted a site visit to assess the situation and that repairs would begin soon.
