THE Penang Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has called for the compulsory microchipping of pets to curb pet abandonment.
Its administrator Lily Leng said the move to have pets fitted with microchips that store information about the animals and contact details of their owners could prevent irresponsible dumping of pets in public places.
