THERE will be a tropical twist to the merriment at Bayview Beach Resort Penang this festive season.
Guests can look forward to feasting amidst rustling palm trees and gentle sea breeze as Yuletide carols ring out.
They can have a sumptuous feast under the stars as the Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner on Dec 24 will be served at the poolside alfresco area beginning 7pm, weather permitting.
Priced at RM120++ for adults, RM60++ for kids and RM85++ for senior citizens, the buffet will feature a vast cosmopolitan spread, incorporating many classic Christmas delicacies.
Traditional Roast Turkey with walnut stuffing, gravy and creamy bread sauce, is set to be the highlight at the carving station, alongside Roast NZ Lamb with Rosemary, served with barbecue tomato and mint sauces.
At nearby action stalls, there is a selection of Italian Pasta to go with a choice of sauces.
The aromatic chargrilled flavours of Chicken and Beef Satay are poised to be a crowd-puller, especially when lathered with homemade peanut sauce.
Do not skip appetisers, because cold platters like Chilled Prawn and Peach in Cheezy Mayonnaise, Smoked Norwegian Salmon and Cold Roast Turkey with Cranberry Sauce, are must-haves.
At the X’mas Hot Selections main dish line up, stand outs include Charbroiled NZ Beef Tenderloin with Bearnaise Sauce, Fried Boneless Chicken with Lemon Custard Sauce, Pan-Fried Salmon Steak with Basil Garlic Sauce and Spanish Paella.
Those on leafy diets may gravitate to the Vegetarian Corner instead. Top it all off with festive sweets like Traditional Christmas Pudding, Yule Log Cake, Christmas Cookies and many more.
There will also be entertainment by the hotel’s resident band. Early birds, who confirm their bookings before Tuesday, will enjoy a 20% discount off the price.
Festivities resume with the New Year’s Eve Buffet Dinner from 7pm on Dec 31. Priced at RM160++ (adults), RM80++ (kids) and RM115++ (seniors), there will be an equally vast array of delicious grub.
Items to look out for include Chilled Tiger Prawns on Ice, Miami Smoked Seafood Platter, Crab Meat Imperial with Macaroni Elbows, Roast Whole Lamb with Mixed Herbs and Garlic, and Double-Boiled Herbal Chicken.
Alternatively, head to the barbecue station, where grilled Fillet Mignon, Tandoori Lamb Cutlets, Nyonya Chicken Chops, Cajun Salmon, Tumeric Rock Lobster and Spiced King Prawns come straight off the flames — to be matched with your choice of sauces.
This buffet will be served at both the alfresco area and La Veranda Restaurant.
Bayview Privilege members are also entitled to 10% discount on both the festive buffets (not valid with Christmas early bird promo).
Over at sister property Bayview Hotel Georgetown, festive offerings will be taken to stratospheric heights at the iconic Revolving Restaurant — starting with the Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner, priced at RM98 nett (adults), RM68 nett (kids) and RM78nett (seniors).
Get a bird’s eye view of the fireworks during the New Year’s Eve Buffet Dinner, priced at RM128nett (adults), RM88nett (kids) and RM98nett (seniors).
In between, there is the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Buffet Dinners, both priced at RM78 nett (adults), RM48nett (kids) and RM68 nett (seniors). All dinners feature entertainment by in-house band, Musica Sonata.
