Rain holds up traffic

AN early morning downpour which lasted for more than three hours saw thousands of motorists stuck in a massive traffic jam all over Penang island resulting in some arriving late for work.

Vehicles heading to the inner city were caught in a bumper-to-bumper crawl as several major roads leading to schools, factories and financial institutions were submerged in water.
