OPENING OF NEW PAGODA
In conjunction with the opening ceremony of its new pagoda, the Thai Buddhist Chetawan Temple in Petaling Jaya will be organising a host of activities this weekend. The event will start on Saturday with special Paritta Chanting starting at 8pm. On Sunday, the opening ceremony will begin at 9am with the arrival of guests. At 9.30am, there will be Paritta Chanting by senior monks followed by the ribbon-cutting and the annointing of the Buddha statue. At 11am, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Dragon Statues will be held followed by transfer of merits. There will be lunch for devotees at 11.45am. For details, call 03-7955 2443.
