MAZLINA SINGS R&B

Mazlina A. Manan a.k.a Maz will perform R&B and funk tunes from the 80s onwards at Alexis Bistro (Alexis Bistro Ampang, Great Eastern Mall, 303 Jalan Ampang) tonight at 10pm. MEET FISH LEONG

SOLO ART DISPLAY

TRAINING CIRCUIT

Themed “Three weeks to go”, the “Zero to Hero” training circuits organised by the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2012 will be held tomorrow from 6.30am at Taman Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

The series of training circuits are designed to help runners prepare themselves for the Full Marathon, Honda Half Marathon, and the 10km categories. Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2012 will be held on June 24 at Dataran Merdeka, and Mark Williams will be teaching participants what they should do three weeks before race day at this training circuit that includes a short briefing session on a selected topic and supervised runs for a pre-determined length of time.

DANCE CONFERENCE

An International Barathanatyam Dance Conference is taking place from 9am to 5pm today at Grand Seasons Hotel, Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, with speakers from India, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. This is followed by a gala dinner and cultural show and the presentation of Lifetime Service Awards to those who have contributed in the field of arts at 7.30pm. A workshop on Barathanatyam presented by Nandini Krishna (Mumbai) will be held at 10am tomorrow at Dewan Tan Sri Dr K.R. Soma, Wisma Tun Sambanthan. All events are by invitation. ANTIQUE CARS SHOW

Goldpage Assets is organising an antique car charity exhibition today, 10.30am at Bukit Malawati Kuala Selangor and 1pm at R&R Kuala Selangor. Local cuisine provide for the public at R&R Kuala Selangor. Thirty senior citizens will be driven in antique cars from Kuala Selangor to Bukit Malawati. HEALTH SCREENING

The Women’s Heart Health Organi-sation is holding a screening programme for women tomorrow from 10am to 10pm at Sunway Pyramid. Women can have their BMI (body mass index), blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels measured during the screening. There will also be counselling sessions and talks on the prevention of cardiovascular disease in women by doctors during the day.

STAMP FAIR

The Philatelic Society of Malaysia or PSM is holding a Stamp Fair today and tomorrow at the Petaling Jaya Community Library, Lot 389 Jalan Selangor, Seksyen 3, Petaling Jaya (near Assunta Hospital) from 9.30am to 5.30pm. There will be a display of award winning philatelic exhibits and stamp dealers with a wide range of Malaysia/Malaya, foreign and thematic stamps, First day covers and other philatelic items. There will also be a colouring competition for children tomorrow morning and lucky draws. Membership to PSM is also available for subscription at the PSM counter. Free admission. SLOVAKIAN PAINTINGS

The Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Malaysia in cooperation with Soka Gakkai Malaysia will be organising an exhibition entitled “Transformations: Human, Symbol, Letters - Exhibition of Drawings by Miroslav Cipلr” from now until June 10, 11am to 6pm daily at the SGM Exhibition Hall, 7th Floor, Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, No. 243 Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. There will be screening sessions on Slovakia in the exhibition hall on weekends during the exhibition period and children’s drawing activities tomorro.
