THE sounds of Hong Kong TVB drama theme songs played on traditional Chinese musical instruments was so fascinating that the audience at a concert by the Sam Tet Chinese Orchestra shouted for an encore, numerous times.
In the two-hour long concert, an ensemble of about 60 students of various ages brought to life favourite theme songs from the 70s and 80s on instruments such as the guzheng (plucked zither), erhu (Chinese fiddle) and pipa (Chinese lute) in front of a sell-out crowd of over 1,000.
