PENANGITES will have to make do without the chee cheong chok (pork innards porridge) at the famous New Lane hawker area for at least two weeks after the proprietor was ordered to close because of unhygienic food preparation.
The proprietor and two other coffee shop operators were slapped with compound notices and ordered to improve on hygiene and clean up their premises during a joint operation by the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) and the state Health Department.
