MUAR: Listeners to retro station Sinar FM may have heard the songs of Hussein Ismail, whose ballads have a distinct Hindi sound that set many maiden’s heart a-flutter in the heydays when he was a regular name on the Malay hit parade charts.
His face used to grace many music magazines and newspapers on both sides of the causeway and his tunes were regularly heard on the air waves, competing with the likes of of A. Ramlie, L. Ramli, Jefryddin and M. Osman.
