THE Mergong Recreation Club (MRC) have set their sights on becoming a badminton powerhouse in Alor Setar with their main goal — to produce a champion one day.
Head coach Low Kean Tiong, acclaimed for nurturing the 2007 All England doubles champion Tan Boon Heong, said that in the last three years alone, the club had produced several champions in the age group categories and this was proof that they were on the right track to groom more talented players to become champions.
