RM280K upgrading works for better drainage

RESIDENTS of Mambang Diawan, Kampar can look forward to a better drainage system as the facility is now in the process of being upgraded.

Kampar MP Datuk Lee Chee Leong said the upgrading works were currently carried out near SJK (C) Mambang Diawan hall, the site of the night market and the northern zone of the village.

He added that the Rural Development Department had allocated about RM180,000 for the three projects.

Lee, who is also Deputy Home Minister, said that another two drainage upgrading projects in the east (the Indian settlement) and north zones, using an allocation of RM100,000 from the Kampar District Council (MPKpr) had been completed.

He said the local government had also set aside RM165,000 to upgrade the Chinese settlement and its infrastructure.

“The road upgrading in the west zone has been completed while the road widening project in the south zone will begin soon,” he said during the Mambang Diawan Cheng Ying Lin Fah Association (CYLFA)’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration dinner at the SJK (C) Mambang Diawan Hall recently.

Meanwhile, Keranji assemblyman Chen Fook Chye said the Government should always put public interest first.

On the other hand, he lauded the many successful businessmen and entrepreneurs who were contributing back to society.

Mambang Diawan CYLFA president Chang Kwong Yok, representatives from Bidor and Kampar CYLFA and Ching Yoon Association from Taiping were also present at the dinner.
