SHUTTERBUGS found plenty to interest them as Photo Fest 2011 returned to Gurney Plaza in Penang.
The ongoing event which is organised by Foto President for the 13th time will be held until Wednesday. Foto President administration ma-nager Loh Choon Teik said that the response was excellent this year as there was a great turnout even on the first day of the exhibition on Friday.
“Since the event coincided with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, National Day as well as the school holidays, the overwhelming response is expected,” said Loh.
He said the event provided a great opportunity for photography enthusiasts to upgrade their cameras or shop for exciting bargains and offers.
“Since we have many established camera brands such as Canon, Ni-kon and Olympus setting up booths here, people should not miss this opportunity as there are discounts up to 80% for selected models as well as gifts,” said Loh.
Mall visitors could be seen thronging the booths to check on the latest camera models ranging from compact digital cameras to high-end DSLRs.
“This year, we are focusing more on DSLR cameras as more people are interested in acquiring these devices,” said Loh.
A basic DSLR camera is cheaper now, costing more than RM1,000 compared to previous years when a DSLR camera would cost over RM3,000.
Besides the cameras on offer at the event, Loh said camera accessories and Sony Vaio laptops were also available at the Photo Fest 2011.
“We hope we will continue to get a great response from the public before the event ends on Wednes-day,” he said.
