BEFORE undergoing a spine and shoulder surgery, retiree Alexander Jay, 67, made a promise that if the surgery was successful, he would return to the Mahindarama Buddhist Temple on Kampar Road in Penang where he offered prayers to thank the monks personally.

Jay, from California, United States, was pleasantly surprised that upon his return to the temple, the Amata Health Camp was being held at the same time.
