THE State Statistics 2010 yearbook had made mistakes on the state’s revenue and expenditure which shows overall deficits from 2005 to 2009, clarified Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh.
According to the Department of Statistics, the state had a deficit of RM1.4bil in 2005, RM549mil in 2006, RM1.06bil in 2007, RM437mil in 2008 and the figure increased up to RM1.9bil in 2009. On the contrary, Wong said, the state was one of the most financially healthy states in the country and had a surplus for the eight consecutive years and accorded a ‘Clean Certificate’ for its public accounts.
