SMK Keat Hwa reigned over the Kota Setar district schools badminton championships held at the Kedah Badminton Association hall in Alor Setar.
Two of the three shuttlers bagging double glory was from the school.
In the boys Under-18 singles final, Khor Jia Wei of SMK Keat Hwa defeated his schoolmate Joa Chim Lee 21-18, 21-17.
Jia Wei followed it up by winning the doubles title with Chan Huan Chun as his partner.
The pair beat their schoolmates Ooi Zi Hao and Leong Shuo Pin 21-15, 21-19.
A similar double act was performed by top seed Tan Wei Jun of SMK Keat Hwa (2) in the boys Under-15 category.
He downed Bolriffin Khairul Tor of SMK Mergong 22-20, 21-9 in the singles final and went on to grab the doubles title as well.
Wei Jun, who partnered Boay Choon How, beat Bolriffin Khairul Tor and Mohd Syauqi Fuzi (SMK Mergong) 21-14, 21-10.
Abdul Jalil Mohd Sidek of Sekolah Rendah Taman Uda did his bit to roll back the domination of SMK Keat Hwa by winning the boys Under-12 singles. He defeated Tan Wei Liang of Sekolah Rendah Pumpong 21-10, 21-14.
Pearly Tan of SRJK Keat Hwa bagged double honours in the girls Under-12 category.
She defeated her schoolmate Lim Hui Hui easily with a 21-6, 21-9 scoreline for the singles title and then partnered Eng Sim Jou to win the doubles crown.
They overcame Lim Hui Hui and Ong You Thien in straight games of 21-16, 21-8 in an all-Keat Hwa final.
Meanwhile, Sumathi Muniandy of SMK Dato Wan Mohd Saman won the girls Under-18 crown. It was her first major title.
Seeded second for the event, she outplayed unseeded Siti Hazwani Din of SMK Kepala Batas 21-16, 21-8
Jolynn Lim, also of SMK Keat Hwa, was top-seeded for the girls Under-15 event.
She justified her top ranking by beating third seed Nor Hazwani Hazair of SMK Convent 21-12, 21-8 in the final.
