THAT laughing-Buddha smile was missing on Datuk David Teng’s face when he chaired a press conference after a SUPP central working committee (CWC) meeting on Monday.

The party treasurer was still reeling from his defeat to DAP’s Dr Wong Hua Seh in Repok, a constituency he had represented for five consecutive terms. His other SUPP colleagues also looked lost and some pale following a near whitewash suffered by the party in the just-concluded state election, the worst ever for the party since its inception.
