Charity event

A GROUP of tourism students from Taylor’s University, batch DT34, is planning a charity event called “Clothe a Child and Feed the Hungry”. This event coincides with their regional trip to Siem Reap on March 29 until April 2. They have planned an assortment of activities and games so that the participants can raise money in an entertaining and fun way. All proceedings will go to the Chres Village Orphanage and School in the Siem Reap province of Cambodia. The event will be held in Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus in Sunway City from 10am to 6pm on March 11.

Kidney Day

IN Conjunction with World Kidney Day, public forums entitled ‘Signs & Symptoms of Kidney Diseases’ by Consultant Physician & Nephrologist Dr Rashid Saidin and ‘Eat Your Way to Health’ by dietician Chew Linh Teng will be held onSaturday. It will take place at Kayangan Hall, Level 1, DEMC Specialist Centre Hospital, Sec 14, Shah Alam from 11.30am to 2pm. Admission is free but seats are limited. Blood donation

THERE will be a blood donation drive via the National Blood Bank’s mobile unit today at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (Uniten), Jalan Puchong, Kajang at Fakulti Teknologi Maklumat (9am to 4pm), Kolej Universiti Islam (KUIS), Bandar Seri Puteri (9.30am to 4pm), Drainage and Irrigation Department, Kompleks JPS Ampang, Jalan Air Bukit off KM1 Jalan Ampang (9am to 4pm) and Taylor’s University College (Lakeside Campus) No. 1, Jalan Taylor Subang Jaya (9am to 4pm).

Language programme

YMCA Kuala Lumpur is offering a series of language programmes for both working adults and students commencing fromSunday. Chinese Writing and Reading course (every Sunday at 2pm to 5pm) for beginners, Mandarin conversation (every Saturday at 10am to 1pm) and Japanese (every Sunday at 10.30am to 1pm).
