THE Kampung Baru Mambau community hall near Seremban was abuzz with activity recently as more than 500 people from the surrounding neighbourhoods gathered to make traditional puffed rice cakes for Chinese New Year in aid of single mothers.
The volunteers, young and old, worked from 11am till late in the evening at various tasks including stirring the sugar mixture to coat the cakes, spreading out the puffed rice on sheets, cutting the cakes and packaging the finished products.
