Structures torn down as they contravened bylaw

THE awnings and supporting posts put up by a transport service operator in Batu Ferringhi, Penang, were pulled down as they had contravened the bylaws under Section 46 of the Street, Drainage and Building Bylaw 1974.

Penang Municipal councillor Ong Ah Teong said the council’s Building Department had given notice to the operator on Oct 12 last year to remove the structures.
