KUALA TERENGGANU: Frequent inspections carried out by the Maritime Department on boats and ferries were aimed to raise safety awareness among boat and ferry operators.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri said the government had taken serious safety measures following several mishaps at sea although the number of fatalities were not high compared to road accidents.
