Caught in the act


A TOTAL of 801 compounds amounting to more than RM20,000 were issued to 501 eateries on the island since Sept 2009 to Dec 23 this year.

Penang Municipal (MPPP) councillor Ong Ah Teong (pic) said the compounds were issued for various offences such as unhygienic conditions, restaurant workers who did not get proper inoculations (for typhoid) and mismanagement of food wastage and garbage.
