THE Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) is urging Sibu residents to practice home composting in a bid to halve the waste going into the Kemuyang Sanitary Landfill site.
SMC chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King said 50% of waste ending up at the landfill were kitchen waste, adding that with the SMC adopting the Takakura composting method, it was confident of rekindling the love for reducing household waste.
